About mindfulness
Mindfulness is a practice of noticing what's happening in the present moment. That might be through paying attention to what's happening in your body, like focusing on your breath, or what's happening in your mind by observing your thoughts like you would clouds in the sky, or noticing what's happening around you, like listening to the sound of the birds.
Although mindfulness has links to meditation and spirituality, you don't have to be spiritual or hold any particular beliefs to practice it. It can be as simple as taking a minute or two to focus on how you feel in your body right now.
Mindfulness for wellbeing
The benefits of mindfulness are helping you notice what's going on in your body and how you are really feeling, and helping you practice observing your thoughts and creating some space between them and yourself. This can help you manage stress, anxiety, and depression.
Many people find regular mindfulness a helpful way to stay feeling on good form. It may not be for everyone, and it's important to find a way of practicing that works for you. Try out different apps, videos on YouTube, sitting quietly, or even taking a mindful walk. There are many ways to be mindful!
